Custom Outdoor Corten Steel Furniture Designed Bench with Planter
The client asked to produce all the outdoor furniture and lighting, including doors and windows, using only Corten Steel and brass. This project is a renovation of a farmhouse that was converted into a relaxing Bed and Breakfast. The client chose the warm color of oxidized Corten steel to furnish the outdoors, recognizing that CorTen steel naturally blends in with the surrounding environment of the park.
Before entering the building one notices the 4 benches with planters in Corten finished with wax. The main entrance door, the balcony and the windows have a custom protective grid made with knitted sheets of Corten Steel and a perimeter in Corten profiles. Locking systems and safety latches are included within the frames for a minimal visual impact. The outdoor wall mounted lights with a rectangular shape use EP65 spotlights.

After completing production of the desired CorTen goods, they were treated by skilled employees to accelerate the oxidation process. After weeks of the maturation process at the factory, most of the run-off and rusting had occurred and the furniture was ready to be installed. Once it reached the dark brown shade, the goods were then waxed, carefully transported and then installed in a few days.
